Production
The soluble cellulose that comes from the wood in a watery solution at 4% is pressed until it reaches 52% consistency, then it is treated with sodium hydroxide and submitted to a maturation and depolymerization. It is later mixed with carbon sulphite to form cellulose xanthate, which is dissolved with more sodium hydroxide.
The resulting viscose is extruded in an acid bath resulting in regenerated cellulose filaments or rayon that is cut to different lengths to obtain cut viscose fibre.
Afterwards, the fibre is submitted to a desulphuration process, washing and bleaching, in order to continue with the drying process and final wrapping in units of 240 kg.
In the reaction, water and sodium sulphate are produced. The sulphate is recovered in our facilities to be sold later. With this recovery and through evaporation groups, the excess of water is removed in order to allow the continuous reuse of the tank.
